In this latest wave of the Futuresource Kids Tech Survey, we highlight insights into the digital lifestyles of kids aged 3-16 across the four markets of France, Germany, UK and the USA.
The report dives into access and usage across devices, types of content consumption, social media, engagement across video, music and gaming, whilst also looking at the role of tech within kids Education whilst at home.
The majority (50%+) of children in each age bracket have access to the internet, with this figure reaching over 9 in 10 amongst 15 to 16-year-olds.
The majority (77%) of parents who allowed their children to access the internet imposed time restrictions on access. Across the 5 most popular paid viewing services (Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, Apple TV+, and Paramount), it is more common for children to have a profile with age restrictions than a profile without age restrictions, or to access the service without their own profile.
TVs and smartphones are the most favoured devices for kids to watch video content on, with the former preferred by younger children, and the latter preferred by those who are older.
