This new IAL report explores the sustainable production of polyurethane, covering the entire value chain - from precursors to final foam products - while examining regional advancements across APAC, EMEA, and the Americas.

It begins with an assessment of precursors content in raw material production, bio-based and recycled feedstocks used in the synthesis of isocyanates and polyols, essential building blocks of PU.

The focus then shifts to raw materials, highlighting the growing integration of renewable polyols, mass balance-certified inputs, and chemically recycled materials aimed at reducing dependency on fossil resources.

The study further evaluates the sustainability of polyurethane foam products, including flexible foam, rigid foam, TPU, and elastomeric foams, addressing innovations in low-emission formulations, extended product lifecycles, and recyclability.
