Global SVOD subscriptions will increase by 332 million between 2023 and 2029 to reach 1.79 billion - revealing that there is still plenty of SVOD growth left.

Six US-based platforms will have 961 million SVOD subscribers by 2029 (54% of the world's total), up from 758 million in 2023 (52%). These platforms will increase their subscriber bases by 203 million over this period from the global 332 million additions.

Simon Murray, Principal Analyst at Digital TV Research, said: "Netflix will remain the largest single platform, adding 52 million subscribers between 2023 and 2029 to take its total to 313 million. Disney+ will remain 120 million subscribers behind Netflix, with less investment and take-up in the Asia Pacific region."
