Aurecon is managing design services for the programme across three proposed stages, with a 12-year timeframe, in a joint venture with AECOM.

There are various aspects of PPP (Public - Private partnership) for carrying out MRO (Maintenance, Repair and over haul activities of land forces in India. To maintain the land system a four tier approach is followed and also for the maintenance of the equipment namely unit, general support, depot and direct support. The equipment held in Indian armed forces Inventory is sourced from global OEM, OFB or the defence PSU and currently the private sector participation in the MRO land system is negligible. The U.S is considered to be the largest market and provider of MRO services for land systems and has a long history of PPP model usage to leverage the public sector resources and private sector efficiencies. To manage defence depots, infrastructure modules and bases U.S has been using PPP. U.S Department of defense has successfully implemented the PPP's for the MRO of land systems in defense.
